earth endows the trees

erasure (blackout) poetry, page 69, Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer, words collect by BSP on 3/15/21

they start making their
work as conduit
they start to flow
back to roots

the trees

they wove their
connection to the land
straight from the tree
the teachings reminds us
the truth that

earth endows us with great gifts

we participate in transformation
night after night tucked safely
in a lullaby, transfixed
