Impossible to hate

One of the things I love about Compassionate Communication (NVC) is that it requires that we really connect with each person's underlying needs.  When we do this, we connect with them on a equal, human level.  Regardless of the conflict we may be in, we are all the same at the needs level and we can relate to the feelings another person has when our same needs are unmet.  We may use drastically different strategies for meeting our needs, but our task is to find strategies that honor everyone's needs equally.
When we take time to know, understand and empathize in this manner, we can be creative and productive with strategies that work for everyone.
Instead of judging, criticizing, fighting, we are called to listen, connect, and love.

I believe that it is impossible to hate when we know another's heart.
