Conspire practice with words and images, 11/4/18

Today in Conspire class we practiced by choosing words and images reflecting on peace and comfort. Here is the poem that came from my practice.

Tree of Life

The woods is my home
because the trees know me.
People don’t.
Layers live between us.

Even through the fog,
the bark, the limbs, and the leaves
know me.

The air we share
is pure and free
from who I was and
who I want to be.

When I cannot stand
to live another day
misunderstood,

I have to flee,
to a wood of trees
and sit and commune with
one who knows me.

Only then, am I
truly free.
